Spiritual Corner Where’s Grumpy?
There was once a family who had in their yard small models of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. One night, someone stole Grumpy, and to this day it is not known who that person was. Several weeks later, Grumpy was returned to his rightful position, and taped to his body was a photo album. With pictures as witness, Grumpy had taken quite a journey. There he was in front of the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and Buckingham palace. There were many other pictures which documented his travels. Upon his return, the lady of the house laughingly said, “What a journey, and he still has that same old grumpy face he had before it began!” Is it obvious to not only those closest to you, but also to the world, that your journey with Christ is not only enjoyable, but life-changing? Or do your actions, speech, and conduct leave some doubt as to whom you are loyal to? I am fearful that we don’t realize to what degree our attitudes, and maybe even something as simple as our facial expressions affect those around us. Paul told the Philippians to “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” (Phil. 1:3). Each day we live, we are creating “pictures” that will be re-played in others minds for ages to come. Let’s leave no doubt that our life in Christ is one we cherish, and ever remember, the greatest leg of our journey is yet to come! Writer: Tommy Bennett
