Just Rambling:

Front Cover: Ashley and Mark Dison, owners of Indian Creek Thoroughbred Farms began their Thoroughbred horse farm by rescuing a thoroughbred stud named Ponopaan. Mark’s daughter, Crystal, found this stud on the internet then talked him into saving it. After this rescue, it was only a short time before Mark was in love with thoroughbred horses. As with anything Mark does, he began to study bloodlines, sale catalogs, and internet references to learn more about the thoroughbred horse business. He traveled to several sales and farms to buy horses and he began to build horse facilities. Mark and Ashley’s true love for horses was shown when “Little Girl” was born. Little Girl’s mother died when she was ten days old which meant “Little Girl” had to be bottle fed. Bottle feeding this young filly was more demanding than bottle feeding a calf especially since Mark wanted this filly to grow off as good as she would have if she had been nursing her mother. This took a lot of extra time and work for all involved with the filly. Mark usually took the late night shift himself and at times would finish out his shift sleeping beside Little Girl. Little Girl is now over a year old and is looking really good. At this time they have horses running at Louisiana Downs and their horses are doing great.
As you may have already guessed, Mark and Ashley are very hard workers. Indian Creek Thoroughbred Farm is only one of their ventures. They own Quality Industrial Construction which does industrial construction in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Ohio and Texas. They also own Spearsville General Store which sells fuel, feed and convenience items. In addition to these businesses they own Internet Service in Honduras which does internet service work in that country. Mark oversees and works in all of their businesses while Ashley handles the majority of the paperwork. As I said, they are busy people but Ashley still finds time to prepare our church bulletin each week and Mark continually strives to help other people.

An Old Farmer’s Advice:

Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.

It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
