UA Ranch Horse Team wins ASHA DII National Championship

UA Ranch Horse Team wins ASHA DII National Championship The UA Ranch Horse Team brought home the ASHA DII National Championship from Sweetwater, Texas on April 22 after two days of tense competition. The team posted a strong victory against schools from Texas, Wyoming and Tennessee and led the second place team with 230 points to their 202 points. In addition, the team obtained eight individual Top 10 class fi nishes and two individual Top 10 high point fi nishes. Individual awards included Division I and Division II competitors. This was the ultimate goal for the team for the 2016-17 season, and they achieved it. For a young team only in its third semester as a student organization, this is an incredible achievement. The team also competed and placed in several competitions around the country throughout the season, including the American Stock Horse Association Region 3 Championship and Reserve National Championship, as well as hosting a clinic and ASHA competition at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center. The dedicated students worked hard to achieve their goal so quickly. We can’t wait to see what they will accomplish in the years to come!
