The Union County Cattlemen’s Association held their Third Quarter Membership Meeting on Thursday, August 17 with Dr. Paul Beck, University of Arkansas Beef Specialist, discussing “Forages For Profit.” The meeting was well attended and was enjoyed by all. McDonald’s Grocery, owned by Rhett Hanry, catered the meal with members providing desserts. Union County Cattlemen’s Association received an award from the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association for membership growth which contributed to the growth of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association from 8,000 to 8,400 members.

We at Ag Trader USA have been praying and continue to send our prayers out to the victims of Harvey located in South Texas and South Louisiana. It has been uplifting to see so many people of all races and all communities working together to overcome this natural disaster. I hope this sense of cooperation and love for fellowman will spread throughout our nation. It is sorely needed. Not only is our nation divided but many in our nation are denouncing God. To quote former president, Ronald Regan, “ Without God there is no virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience—without God democracy will not and cannot long endure.” Are we approaching the fall of our country? The responses seen during this Harvey disaster say no—our nation remains strong. I pray that it is and will be strong into the future. To quote past president, Thomas Jefferson, “I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just and that his justice cannot sleep forever.” Are we at that point—only God knows.
Remember: Life is a blessing, Never take it for granted, Be thankful—Pray without ceasing, For we don’t know when judgement day will come. Van Bennett
