“4-H’ers, Families, Friends and Supporters
Continue Tradition of Livestock Projects with 24th Annual Youth Livestock Show”
The Union Parish livestock show barn was filled with excited anticipation from 4-H’ers and their families on a beautiful, cool morning, Saturday, January 6th. This is the day that the 4-H’ers, parents, grandparents and volunteer leaders have been working towards for several months, and all of that preparation is about to pay off. The Union Parish 4-H Livestock project current participation is 18 exhibitors exhibiting 53 market and breeding animals. Our continued success with livestock projects is due to the excellent leadership and tireless dedication of adult volunteer leaders, parents, grandparents, and unwavering supporters. Following are the results of the day’s shows. Champion animals and showman were selected by livestock judge Stacy Stone, but in my eyes all of these youth are champions because of their hard work and determination to “Make the Best Better”.

The Union Youth Livestock Council wishes to thank the parents, grandparents and volunteers who continue to provide opportunities for youth to participate in the 4-H livestock project. Also, a very special thanks goes to Mr. Johnny & Mrs. Donna Guice for preparing the jambalaya lunch for all the exhibitors, family members & spectators. Between now and March these youth will be conducting their annual solicitation of funds to help he or she continue in the 4-H Livestock Project which will help them purchase feed and future animals. Again, with the help of dedicated local business and individuals we could not continue to positively impact this large number of youth! If you would like more information about the 4-H Livestock Program, please contact Brandon Reeder or Jason Holmes at 368-9935.
