Just Rambling October 2018:

Just Rambling: I wrote about my daughter, Velvet, in our August issue but I am writing about her again to bring everyone up to date on her condition. Since early August, Velvet has been in and out of the hospital in Shreveport and is now being referred to MD Anderson hospital in Houston. She and Johnny will leave tomorrow, Oct 1st, traveling to MD Anderson where she will receive immune therapy treatment. Doctors at MD Anderson have been doing this immune therapy research and have been successful in many cases. Velvet’s doctors in Shreveport say Velvet is an ideal candidate for the immune therapy treatment. We hope and pray that they are correct and that Velvet responses positively to these treatments. My daughter, Avery, recently started a prayer chain where every night at 8pm all the family prays for Velvet and her family then text the prayer to Velvet. Velvet is a cancer survivor having had a battle with cancer in early 2012. Since then she had been cancer free for over six years. My daughter has always been strong physically and strong in her faith. When our prayer chain was started Velvet text all of the family the following:
“We didn’t get the news we wanted to hear today, But I’m a fighter and I have the best family and support system around. I love each of you! This just means we have to fight a lot harder. The devil is trying to steal our joy and I’m not giving in!! So please everyone help me fight this battle—starting with a prayer.
I pray dear Heavenly Father that you wrap your healing hands around me. I pray you continue to provide the best support system. I pray that you lift up the medical staff and give them the knowledge to help heal me. Father, we know that plans made are your plans not ours. That we may not understand that at this time, however, Lord, we ask that you continue to comfort us all during this time. We give you all the glory. Your will is to be done not ours. No matter what, you are our salvation and we all strive to have a home in heaven with You one day. I just ask that You watch over us all and bless us as You have done so many times in the past. In Jesus Holy name I pray. Amen”
Velvet, is my oldest daughter, but in my eyes she is still my little girl. She loves the farm life as I stated in my August issue. Since her cancer returned she hasn’t been able to do much photography hence very few posting by Ag Trader on facebook. I hope and pray that the immune therapy will work on Velvet and she will soon be home again to enjoy her family, the farm, her photography and the many activities and boards she is involved in. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you. Van Bennett
So proud of my granddaughter, Katy Ezell, who as a nineteen year old college student at La. Tech traveled to Zambia, Africa on a mission trip. October Scripture to Live By: Hebrews 11:1-3 and 6 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligent seek Him.
