Producers Complete Master Cattleman Course

The LSU AgCenter Northwest Region annual Master Cattleman Course completed its ten week run on Monday, May 6, 2019 with 19 producers graduating. This year’s course was held at the LSU AgCenter Winn Parish Extension Office in Winnfield. Over the course of ten weeks graduates learned valuable information about all phases of beef production including nutrition, reproduction, herd health, pastures and forages, cattle handling, economics and marketing, weed control, the end product, and more. As part of completing the Master Cattleman Course, graduates became Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certified as well.
Producers who completed the course include: Brandon Bonner, Richard Bonner, Chuck Butterfield, Terry Campbell, Brandon Dubois, Josh Fletcher, Chuck Gifford, Kevin Hendricks, Rachel Hendricks, Jeff Horne, Jesse Magee, Michael McDaniel, Lisa Nunn, Scotty Nunn, Leonard Parker, John Pickett, Rod Potts, Ken Richardson, and Sonja Vice.
The Louisiana Master Cattleman Program was developed in 2004 to increase cattle producers’ knowledge of the cattle industry, and help them become more profitable. If you would like more information on the Master Cattleman Program or LSU AgCenter Beef Cattle Extension please contact your local LSU AgCenter Extension Office or Extension Agent.
