Louisiana Broiler Hatchery Released: November 20, 2019 www.nass.usda.gov Broiler-Type Eggs Set Down 6 Percent From Last Year Louisiana hatcheries set 3.46 million broiler-type eggs during the week ending November 16, 2019, down 6 percent from the comparable week in 2018 and down 4 percent from the previous week. Hatcheries in the United States weekly program set 235 million eggs in incubators during the week ending November 16, 2019, up 3 percent from a year ago. Broiler-Type Chicks Placed Up 2 Percent Louisiana broiler-type chicks placed for meat production were 3.56 million during the week ending November 16, 2019, up 2 percent from the comparable week in 2018 and up 8 percent from the previous week. Broiler growers in the United States weekly program placed 183 million for meat production during the week ending November 16, 2019, up 4 percent from a year ago.
