Just Rambling February 2020: Things have been moving rather fast during the past week since my daughter, Dana, gave birth to a little boy— Hayden Rebel Alexander. He was born on January 29th at 2:17 a.m., which was my father’s birthday. Dana has written about this in her regular article which also has a picture of her, Randy and little Hayden Rebel. Randy has been by Dana’s side continuously which has really helped Dana. Both Dana and Randy are going to make great parents. I am so proud of them and their new baby boy, Hayden Rebel. Front Cover: The North Louisiana Agri-Business Council put on Ag Expo 2020 on January 17th and 18th at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center. Ag Expo is always a great event to attend. It is kicked off with a luncheon at the West Monroe Convention Center. Dr. Mike Strain, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry always speaks to the group at the luncheon. He always does a great job speaking but this year was exceptional. Dr. Strain amazes me how he can stay on top of so many issues affecting agriculture/forestry and our nation. We in Louisiana are blessed to have him as our Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry. Dr. Strain stopped by our Ag Trader USA booth to say hello and he joined us for a picture with my wife Donnette, my daughter Brittany (who is the owner of Brittany’s Original's in Farmerville) and myself. Thank you Dr. Strain. It was an honor to have you join us in our booth. Since my daughter, Velvet’s passing, on October 30, 2018 we have been blessed with two new grandsons. Hudson Shiloh Wilson was born on December 21, 2018 and Hayden Rebel Alexander was born on January 29, 2020. She was so excited about Hudson Shiloh being born to our daughter, Avery and her husband, Jerome—their first. I know she is equally excited about Hayden Rebel being born to Dana and her husband, Randy—their first. I can just see her now. She would be so proud of her new nephews and would be getting ready to help teach them how to ride horses, show cattle and all about the farm which she loved so much, as evidenced by her farm photography. I can show Hudson Shiloh our children’s pictures in our home and he can pick out his Aunt Velvet immediately even though he didn’t get to meet her on earth. I plan to start showing Hayden Rebel her pictures real soon, so he will grow up knowing that she was his Aunt Velvet. We miss her so much but we know she is asleep in Jesus and is no longer enduring pain and suffering. She would be so excited that I have already given her two nephews a heifer each so they can grow up loving the cattle and the farm I love you Velvet—my #1 Daughter. Van Bennett
