Just Rambling April 2020:

Just Rambling: I hope and pray that this writing of my “Just Rambling” finds everyone healthy and avoiding being infected by the Corona Virus. This pandemic is truly a situation that I have never been involved in or could have imagined. They say that this virus began in China and was kept largely under wraps for sometime. I can believe this came from China and hopefully this pandemic affecting the United States and the world will teach us a lesson about communist China. I heard one individual on a news show say that he lived in China for many years and that the Chinese would constantly lie to you. Also, 90% of many of our medications are made in China. How did America let that happen? I guess China could produce them so much cheaper, so our pharmaceutical companies couldn’t resist the cheap labor in China. After listening to some of the senators and our President talking, I believe this will change in the future. America doesn’t need to depend on China—they cannot be trusted. Those liberals, that were calling people racist because they said this is a Chinese virus should have their heads examined, because there is no question that it started in China. When I think of what we are going through I can’t help but think back to the Great Depression and then to World War II. Sure we are basically sheltering in place but we are home. We have TV to watch and internet service for our phones and computers. We can email, Facebook, video conference, so many things to occupy our time and to enjoy. What did they have in the Great Depression—very little, it doesn’t compare to us now and what we have. In World War II my grandmother Bennett had three sons and two brothers overseas fighting in the war. My father served over three years as a military policeman in Europe. There was very little communication with home— letter writing was basically it. I can’t imagine being separated from my family for that length of time with only communication by letter. My father told me when they left the United States headed to Europe they went on the ship, The Queen Mary. He said they were all young men and they were all sick (vomiting) on the trip over. I think back to the men and women that served in World War II and I can understand why they are called the Greatest Generation. This pandemic is terrible but I don’t believe it compares to the Great Depression and World War II. I may decide different before this pandemic is over but I hope and pray that no more lives will be lost. I want to say Thank you to all the medical personnel throughout our nation and all the people working in essential businesses. Thank you to our farmers and ranchers who produce food and fiber for this nation and to those companies such as Ford, General Motors, etc that have started making ventilators and other essential items to use in the fight against the Coronavirus. May all in our nation turn back to God’s word, that we have strayed so far from. God Bless each of you and may each of you remain safe and healthy. May we all thank God and our Savior, Jesus Christ, every day for the blessings we have and continue to ask for a healing hand for our nation. Van Bennett
