Private Pesticide Applicator’s License,

Those of you with Private Pesticide Applicator’s License, if you were due to recertify by March 31, 2020 but were not able to attend a recertification meeting, please see the information below. Update from the LSU AgCenter Pesticide Safety Education Program The LSU AgCenter PSEP has been working with the LSU AgCenter Administration and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) Pesticide Division to make a decision on the applicators that need recertification between now and March 31, 2020. The governor has declared a state of Public Health Emergency. We are working to continue to provide extension services across the State of Louisiana, but we must do so considering this declaration and in accordance with the recommended best practices to minimize the spread of COVID-19. It has been decided that all applicators who have not yet been able to attend a recertification training with the local county agents prior to March 13, 2020, their certifications will be extended one year until March 31, 2021. The LDAF will issue new cards sometime in May of 2020. LDAF will be working with us and applicators and we thank them for that. IF YOU NEED A NEW CARD - Please inform LDAF in writing that you were unable to attend a recertification event or that the event was cancelled. Mail requests to: LDAF 5825 Florida Blvd. Suite 3003 Baton Rouge, LA 70806 Via email: pestcert@ldaf.state.la.us Also, the LSU AgCenter guidelines and helpful information about functioning with this health situation are available at www.LSUAgCenter.com/COVID-19. We apologize for any inconvenience that this causes, but it has been decided that this is the best route to take at this point in time.
