Just Rambling June 2020

Just Rambling June 2020: I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Marsalis Family in their loss of Jimmy Marsalis –husband, father and grandfather. Jimmy was a fine man and a good friend. I have known Jimmy since our college days and from different agriculture groups he was involved in. Jimmy will be missed very much. The Marsalis family will be in my prayers for their healing. I would also like to extend my deepest sympathy to Mr. Lee Royce Alford and family in the loss of his wife, Bonnie earlier in May. I have known Lee Royce and Bonnie along with their family for many years. Mrs. Bonnie was a good lady and she will be sorely missed. Lee Royce and family—you will be in my prayers for healing. I would also like to extend my deepest sympathy to others that have lost loved ones recently. I was driving down the road a few days ago and I heard an old country song which really made me stop and think about my life. I am not sure what the title was but I think it said “Remember When”. I wish I could quote the song but I can’t. The singer just sang about his life—remembering this and that. As I heard this song I thought about the scripture James 4:14-15 which says, “whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” Instead you ought to say “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” Life has changed so much since this Covid19 virus has entered our nation and other nations, especially for older adults. As I wrote in our April issue I have never experienced anything quite like this and I will be seventy years old in October. Now we have the riots all over the United States. I don’t condone the death of Mr. Floyd but the rioting doesn’t help the situation. The people doing the rioting are not concerned with Mr. Floyd’s death—all they are concerned with is destruction of property and looting. There were peaceful protests shortly after Mr. Floyd's death, allowed by our government, but soon evil people joined the ranks of protesters and the protests turned violent. I feel for law enforcement officers in general. They have a really tough job protecting the people and where would our nation be without our law enforcement. Our nation would soon be dissolved and tyranny would take over. Are we getting close to the last days? In 2Timothy 3:1 Paul says, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come.” The situation with the pandemic and all the riots make you wonder even though we have had riots before. I know we have had predictions by men about when the world would come to an end with the second coming of Christ. No man or women knows this as Jesus Christ stated in Matthew 24:35-37 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. 36“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only 37But as the days of Noah were so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24:42-44 42”Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come he would have watched and not allowed his home to be broken into. 44Therefore you also be ready for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” I write all of this “Just Rambling” to honor my friends that have gone home and to say I will be so happy when this pandemic is over and the rioting has stopped. I look so forward to assembling with brothers and sisters in Christ even though we have been meeting through Facebook, but it is not the same. I dearly miss our worship services. I also miss all the meetings and the friends at these meetings even though, again we meet on the internet. It is great that we can meet on the internet but it doesn’t compare to face to face. Let us all pray that this pandemic will soon be over and these riots will stop. Pray that we can get back to an America as it was before these tragic events. I hope one good thing may come out of this pandemic—that America finally sees China’s true intent, which is to destroy America. Let us bring our manufacturing home from China and put our people to work instead of supporting China. We need to make sure our politicians know this, if they plan to serve in Washington D.C. We need to put down the socialist approach to government and anyone who has connections with China. Buy American and remember what Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minster of Great Britain said, “Socialism works good until the other man’s money runs out.” Wake up America— buy America and remember this country was founded on God’s Word.
