Just Rambling: On the night of March 15, the Union Cattlemen’s Association met for their first quarter meeting. It was a very special meeting because we honored Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Laster for their service to Union Cattleman’s Association and the Louisiana Cattleman Association. Mr. L.J. Laster has served on the Union Cattleman Board since it’s inception in 1980. Both Mr. L.J. and Mrs. Tommie have always worked to make our cattleman meetings a success and they have worked in the Louisiana Cattleman’s kitchen at the Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport for many years. Union Cattleman Association and Ag Trader USA presented Mr. L.J. and Mrs. Tommie with a nice plaque to extend our appreciation for all they have done for the cattle industry. Pictured below is Mr. L.J. and Mrs. Tommie. The entire group was shocked that night when Mr. L.J. informed the group that he just turned ninety-one years old. Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Laster for all you have done and continue to do for Union Cattleman’s Association and Louisianan Cattleman’s Association. About the Front Cover: The little red calf is the only red calf on our farm among all the white ones. He has become a Facebook star with my daughter, Velvet, always posting pictures of him. My daughter, Brittany, suggested to me that Red needs his own Facebook Page since everyone loves his pictures. He does have a lot of personality but his own Facebook page—not likely unless it generates some revenue. If it would, I might reconsider!
April Scripture to Live by: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:13— “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
