Passing USMCA Will Help Cattle Producers Source: National Cattlemen’s Association Texas rancher and NCBA member Kelley Sullivan Georgiades testified before a House Agriculture subcommittee. In her comments, Sullivan explained why trade with Canada and Mexico has benefitted cattle and beef producers across the country. “The most important thing this Congress can do for cattle producers is approve the USMCA.” - Texas rancher Kelley Sullivan Georgiades Maryland State Government Moves Toward “Backdoor” Attack on Beef When the Maryland General Assembly voted to oppose a resolution that would have forbidden the purchasing of beef during the 2019 session, that should have been the end of it. Unfortunately, the Maryland Department of General services had other ideas. NCBA and the Maryland Cattlemen’s Association are pushing back against a newly-created subcommittee within the Department of General Services that is considering a ban on beef in state nutrition programs and food service facilities.
